Joy of Giving
The beauty of living is in joy of giving. One does not live by himself alone. Joy of giving is being with others that makes life more meaningful.
As my kids grow up, I educate or teach them that they should put in mind the act of giving is a wonderful thing. But when you give, do not ask and wait for something in exchange for that will mean that you are not sincere. When we extend our hands to a person in need, this person will someday extend his to others. A wonderful cycle of giving and helping will occur, with us someday on the receiving end.
But if we give help just to be a known person, then better not to give. No heavenly reward awaits a “give with a speaker” because he has already received his worldly reward which is borrowed fame. A person who gives freely and sincerely is loved but his fellowmen and has a place reserved for him in God’s paradise.
One example for this is a politician, when the election time is past approaching; they give anything to the electors and ask them in return when election time comes to vote for them. And after election when they are already proclaimed as a winner some politicians don’t ever say to thank you and others are hiding because they get already what they want to be.
Joy of giving without asking in return has a lace to everyone’s heart, and we can sleep in the night with a smile in our hearts.
Art of Reconciliation
Art of Reconciliation is that being a peace with oneself is difficult; being at peace with others is more. Art of reconciliation. Human nature compels as to be self centered, which should be so. God gave as the facilities to be good, but we in return neglect them because we sometimes perceive world and other people as different. And as such would do as evil. Sometimes we judge easily because of another person’s appearance or lack of it. This bad human habit distances our selves from God.
One Saturday for the kids is free and no class, my husband and I decided to go to the beach to unwind and kids will enjoy their weekends. As my kids were playing by the seashore my husband and I saw an old woman walking along talking something to her self while picking up every now and then putting them to her bag.
We felt uneasy of the old woman’s presence. I call my kids. When the old woman passed by, she smiled with us. Her gesture was not returned and she was looked at suspiciously. Unknown to us the old lady had devoted her life picking up bits of glass from the beach so that children wouldn’t cut their feet.
Good deed do not necessarily come with good looks, and in the same breath, evil intentions does not necessarily come dressed in rags. Let as not judge lest we be judged. Let us not be prejudice, lest we become prejudice ourselves.
Sometimes we look too highly to our selves. We think of other as nuisance or harmful to our existence without realizing that we could be the same pest to them; so what exactly the art of reconciliation; It is simple, “Love yourself less, and love others more.” It is the only way we can be at peace with everyone and ultimately with ourselves.
Indoor Pollution
Indoor pollution; we think that home is the safest place on this planet, better think twice and think twice as hard. Indoor pollution, Shocking is the fact that our very own home may not so sweet after all.
We need to consider artificial air fresheners. Organic gases given off by carpeting, furniture, and drapes and of the paraphernalia can pave the way of series of loud sneezes and irritated nose.
The accumulation of air pollutant trapped inside our homes. I have here some suggestions which can help improve the quality of home air in circulation.
We must maintain the ventilation/air conditioning system in good working order, potted plants in a corner can be ornamental and even functional, educate each household member as regards the sources and effects of indoor pollutants, and have our house air quality monitored regularly to identify potential problems before they become serious.
Fighting indoor pollution is not that impossible job. Vigilance and awareness of the harmful matters posed by indoor air pollution can make our home a haven of good health and good life.
To be Sick is Fun
Have you ever pretended being sick? Yah to be sick is fun. This what I did during my younger age or when I’m still in grade school; to be sick is fun, it’s so easy. I stay under the sun for a time, then I told my mother that I am not felling well. When touches my warm forehead, she’ll never suspect the truth. And to the fun begins, to be sick is fun.
Now I don’t have to go to school, not to run errands, my work is mainly to lie safely in bed. And expecting my friends and classmates to visit me of course expect candies and flowers from them, but deep inside with me-laugh. To be sick is fun really I am.
But as soon as my moms discovers the truth, that will be the end of my career as best actress, and my stage play will have a tragic ending, with mom scolding me with the whole day.
But supposed if we really get sick!? It’s sad to imagine ourselves being boundless up in those sheets, hot water at our feet and only the ceiling to look at. But there are still ways to make the most out of those dissemble days in bed.
Instead of just starring at the ceiling, put a book over our eyes, soon we’ll find our self turning one page after another. By reading we can travel to places we have never been to, and meet a lot of interesting people.
- Turn on the radio or have some favorite concerts to watch on our DVD player.
- Recall some enjoyable experiences and think of the fun you’ll have as son as we get well.
To be sick is fun; we may think that being sick is the most miserable happening in our life. But we can make those boring days productive by using our creativity. All of us get sick, but it depends on us on how to enjoy while being sick. But Above all never forget to pray, after all, it’s very comforting to think that aside from our parents and friends, somebody up there cares for as a lot even if we are enjoying that to be sick is fun.
Education for Children
If we ask many Filipino parents, what they think is the greatest gift they could give to their children; the answer would most probably education for children. Not that education for children but the highest level of education if possible. And most children agree. Parents are prepared to work long hours, here in the Philippines parents sell their carabao(national animal) or mortgage a farm just loan in a bank to be able to send our children to school to raise the education for children and aim what they are aiming to become in the future.
For the fact children are prepared to walk many kilometers just to be able to school especially on rural areas with no other transportation. Both parents and students struggle and sacrifices just to graduate and have a precious diploma hanged on the walls of their homes. For we as people cherish education for children.
Rich parents see n the graduation of the child a guarantee of the continuity of the social standing, wealth and fortune of the family. Poor parents see in education of a son or daughter a, a chance to be freed from the bondage of poverty. It means a bigger house, more delicious food, a bigger farm or a small grocery.
Education for children always comes to the rescue, because in school medals and honors are awarded not to the riches but to the brightest. In companies promotions and high salaries are given to the brightest and most qualified and not to the sons and daughters who have the most money. Whoever gets the good education, has much opportunity to rise and earn millions as any body else.
The truth is, there are many sons and daughters of the poor parents, who have become rich, influential and famous all because they were able to obtain in a good education for children. It is therefore no surprise that most Filipino parents and children truly love and cherish education for children.

Meeting New Friends
Meeting new friends is not always easy, especially if we do not come from the neighborhood. And this is even harder for city kids in meeting new friends because they do not have the ease and comfort of close-knit neighborhood ties. Once we meet them, how we get to be friends? And how do we keep them from friends?
Meeting new friends also happen to my son in his first day in school. Meeting new friends in the classroom is a different story. It’s something like,” so close and yet so far away”. My son told me that his seatmate sits close beside him, but he can’t talk until the class is over. His other classmate look like they would be nice friends sit father away from my son but he is too shy. I told my son to be friends with them because meeting new friends in school is a nice thing to do at the same time you will enjoy.
What my son did, in the next day of school is that he share his new pencils with a spider man brand, a sharpener and even sharing their stories about their new bags. I told my son that meeting new friends in school is by way of sharing because it is the simplest thing to do, sharing is even better than giving.
When I was a kid, I remember my mother cooking a lot of snacks, foods to share with neighbors. She asks me to bring a layer of cake to our neighbors. I also remember gripping about it. And the children of that family become our friends. Pretty soon our families become very friends too. And before we know it, we were so close they even invited us to watch Las Vegas Shows with them. It’s really amazing!
Therefore meeting new friends is an easy thing to do if we only know how to share and deal with our new friends.

Eye Disorders for Kids
Knowing at this time that our kids are now prone to eye disorders for kids, why? There are plenty of computer games, play stations, game boy, PSP, and now DS that can cause eye disorders for kids. In fact some of these eye disorders for kids may cause permanent eye damage and blindness-if left untreated.
Usually, my kids cannot tell if their vision is poor. As a mother, I need to be watchful for signs that my kids were having trouble in seeing to avoid eye disorders for kids. I notice them that sometimes they are frequent in blinking or rubbing their eyes, an abnormal position while looking at the television or to any object, or a white spot in the eyeball.
Any of these signs may indicate that my kid is visually impaired. So I decided to see a pediatric ophthalmologist as soon as possible, I am very much aware that eye disorders for kids they must have eye check up as early as possible so that they could save their eyes from serious disorders.
Here are common pediatric eye disorders;
· Lazy eye – one of the most serious eye disorders for kids, treatable only until the age of 7. Poor vision even with correct eyeglasses. Treatment consists of proper use of glasses and eye patching. After the age of 7 the eye disorders for kids become s permanent.
· Misalignment of the eyes – characterized by a squint or crossed eyes or what we called in Filipino language (duling). The treatment consists of using eye glasses or surgery.
Retinopathy of prematurely – This affects premature babies. Abnormal blood vessels and tissue grow over the retina. The part of the eyes that captures visual images and sends them into the brain, Treated with laser therapy or surgery, early detection and prompt intervention is a must.
I advice to my fellow parents to take good care of our kids and visit an eye doctor for a check up before school starts to save our children’s future and to prevent also the eye for eye disorders for kids.
