Philippines Summer Vacation

Philippines summer vacation is a very enjoyable place, a place to relaxed and have a sun bathing on the beach. Philippines summer vacation has a plenty of place you can visit in different beaches around the country. Philippines summer vacation is really an enjoyable place to go. No one compares Philippines summer vacation is the best.

It’s now the month of April and I can feel the heat of the sun at home or even at night when I sleep. I can feel as I walk on the street. Hello, summer vacation as what my kids always shouting for they are very happy and free from going back to school everyday.

My kids are really very happy, Hello summer vacation, Free again! Care free again! No teachers to prod them to study take exams or make long assignments! No need to wake up early each morning! It is fun, food, sleep, play and relaxation. My elder son said.

Strictly speaking, summer is not Filipino. Summer is one of the four seasons of the year in temperature countries, the tree others being spring, autumn or fall and winter. Tropical country like Philippines have only two seasons- the rainy season and the dry seasons. What I now refer to is the “summer” is actually the hottest months of the dry season.

Philippines summer vacation is quite hot!!! And my kids are very excited to have a vacation in my home town in Biliran, province where their grandparents are staying now. We have a beautiful beach. White sand and running water that they can swim like a swimming pool, and the advantage of our pool is running water and a fresh and purified drinking water that comes from under the land or what we call in our place a “tubod” originally come under the soil. During hot time the water is so cold and nice to stay under the water for swimming and we can’t fell that summer vacation is there.

Philippine summer vacation for my kids should not all be play and relaxation. Philippines summer vacation should also a time for reflection. For thanking God we have our homes, our parents, our excursion sites and summer. It is also a time for helping mother in the home chores and to learn how to do things especially those where not taught in school.

Remember children, as I told them that Philippines summer vacation is only a vacation. It is a part of our life but it is only a small part. The bigger part is in striving to be better educated to better earn and to better live.

Parent-Child Relationship

Parent-child relationship is an accepted fact that parents should be present during the development age of our children. Parent-child relationship is a time that attachment should be formed between parent and a child; otherwise our child will grow to be handicapped in social and personal adjustment, but this attachment is deferred with the absence of either parent, or sometimes by even both of them. The result is weak parent-child development.

As my observation with regards also to a child that their parents are always far from their kids is that disadvantage to a child is he/she is longing for the love of a real mother. And the advantages are the child will be more independent enough and not a spoiled brat to his playmates.

The most cases of this are the parents who are contract workers who are married, and their children are left behind and still young. Infants who are left behind take little pleasure when held by their mothers, holding their bodies rigid (that is rejecting their mothers) yet protest when they are put down. They have less harmonious with their mothers, are not responsive even too friendly but unfamiliar adults. And as they grow up they are less competent in problem solving.

I’ve noticed that children who grow up under the care of grandarents turn out not only spoiled but feel unloved by their own parents. This is felt even worse by children whose siblings have been brought up by the parents.

They grow up disoriented because of the differences in parenting style between the real parent and the surrogate ones. These negative reactions can lead to frustration on the part of the parent and may cause him/her to become abusive.

The Family Values

The family values serves as the laboratory where the child learns to get along with people. The family values assume responsibilities and is thought to cooperate in different family activities. The family values is the home that the success of every family members. The family values is the basic concept in nation building, are learned.

In the family, the child learns that home is something that should be felt not only in words but action. It is in the family that the child’s control hatred, jealousy, and envy. That’s why I educate my kids not hurt others or even talk any bad words that can hurt to other people.

F A M I L Y

F – Family has a primary function in the development of one’s ideas, skills, values and our personalities as a whole, which in the end lead to human satisfaction.

A - Almighty God’s presence should be accounted for, for it helps illuminate the path to be pursued by each member of the family for a vivid future.

M- Many recognize the true values inherent in building a family, which will emanate development on a wider scale- community development and eventually national development.

I- It is this aspect that we should remember this statement.” Whatever the individual’s upbringing in the family is reflected with fellowmen and this is carried on to the school and anywhere else he goes.”

L- Let us then bear in mind that family ties are the backbone of family relationship. There is a need to strengthen it as a foundation, which will ten be transmitted from generation to generation.

Y- Youth of today, I suggest, should embrace the way of life he has been accustomed to – which has started in his very own family upbringing, stressing the different positive values we are preserving to maintain our image and prestige as Filipino.

Cigarette smoking is dangerous to our health, as what the government always reminds us, on television, newspapers and even on the packs of the cigarette that we bought in stores. Cigarette smoking is dangerous for millions of smokers; it is the world of the daily struggles with hacking coughs and shortness of breath. Cigarette smoking is dangerous for it stained in teeth and hands, burned spots on floors, tables and beds.

Cigarette smoking is dangerous, because it is a world of irritably, anxiety, restless and headaches unless one maintains a steady fix of nicotine in the blood from a smoke. Cigarette smoking is dangerous, it is known to be a contributing factor in the following; cancer of the lung, cancer of other respiratory sites, chronic bronchitis, heart diseases and many others especially, the parts of the body affected by cigarette smoke are the following;

· Brain – Some nicotine reaches the brain with in seconds after the first puff.

· Heart – Nicotine increases adrenaline production, heart rate and blood pressure. Heart diseases either cause or made worse by smoking, kill more smokers than lung cancer does.

· Muscles – Muscle tone is quickly decreased, over all strength and endurance is decreased by the efficiency of the blood supply system.

· Stomach – Nicotine increases the production of stomach acid, it promotes ulcers.

· Lungs – Billions of microscopic droplets of the tar enter the lungs air chambers; only 30 percent are breath out.

· Entire body parts – Almost 100 percent of smokes carbon monoxide is absorbed by the red blood cells, decreasing their ability to absorb oxygen.

The danger of health is calculated according to the risk of disease to different ages and different levels of cigarette smoking. If you are a change smoker do not stop right away better to stop gradually so that the body can adjust easily.

Love of a Home

A home is not a house; and a house is not a home. Love of a home is a place were the family lives with contentment, unity, understanding and respect for each other. Love of a home is a binding force that enables us to live harmoniously. A good family makes good society and makes a good family.

A father is the head of the family, the leader of all goodness, blameless and looked up to by the children to emulate or to be equal to all the kids in the home. He has the highest authority, a well discipline and a good disciplinarian. A good father produces good children. Good leaders have good follower. The heart can never totally right if the head is totally wrong.

In love of a home, the mother is the light of the home; there is no reason that children would walk in darkness of sins because light constantly used the path of righteousness. Mother is a living example; she keeps her children with love of a home, teaching by doing. We the parents teach our children to fear God. To fear God is be afraid to do what is wrong. We should not depend to the teachers in school because moral uprightness begins at home.

I am very sad to live in the midst of our decaying society, and I focused these to the total failures of some of the parents at home, who are alive yet dead in the presence of God. They lacked of importance in Christ in their hearts. It is only God who can direct us toward the better future in love of a home in our families.

Love of a home is a place for safety comfort, love of a home is ready to make me feel loved and cared for, love of a home does not matter how small it is, what matters is loving family who is there.

Rights of Parents to their Children

Every parent has the rights to discipline their children. Right of parents to their children is a must, most children that parents abandon them they also abandoned their lives, some entered into drugs, thief, robberies and other involve in different bad organization, and to lessen the problems there must be a solution on how the rights of parents to their children are active.

Parents must join parental authority, the father and the mother shall exercise jointly, just and reasonable parental authority and responsibility over their legitimate or adopted children. Grandparents shall be consulted on important family questions but, they shall not interlude in the exercise of parental authority by its parents.

Right of parents to their children, parents shall have the right to discipline the child as maybe necessary for the formation of his good character, and may therefore acquire from him obedience to just and reasonable rules and suggestions. The primary rights and obligation is to provide their upbringing for child’s development.

Parents shall have the following general duties towards their children;

- To give him affection, companionship and understanding.

- To extend to him the benefits of good moral guidance and self-discipline.

- To supervise his activities, including his recreation.

- To teach him the value of industry, thief and self-reliance.

- To stimulate his interest in civic affairs, teach him the duties of citizenship and develop his commitment to the country.

- To always set a good example.

- To provide him with adequate support.

A Filipino courtship and marriage style in my country Philippines is treated in a traditional way. Filipino courtship and marriage style, long before the Spaniards come, our people already held girls with a highest respect and esteem, in our society woman is practically placed in a pedestal where she is almost worship by men. The boy is expected to be courageous and to be prepared to defend at all cost. Filipino courtship and marriage style, the gentleman should not take advantage of her feminine weaknesses. In fact, as little kids, Filipino boys are told by our parents not to quarrel with girls.

Men are supposed to be the main family bread winner; they are expected to be industrious being the head of the family. And the girl is expected to be the paragon of moral virtue. In a Filipino courtship and marriage style when the girl decided to accept suitor, she is expected to bid for time and to be cautious. And the boy must be welling to wait once she makes her decisions, however The Filipina should be true and loyal to the man.

Today, Filipino courtship and marriage style is that the practice of rendering service to the girl’s family has considerably dismissed. As in the past it is normally the boy’s family which shoulders the expenses for the wedding. In many cases now, the girl and her family share in the expenses.

Through the years past, Filipino courtship and marriage style had drastically changed. Filipina girls today are more frank with our feelings towards men. We do not hesitate to show the feelings either in words or in body language. We believe that what men can do, we can also do and why not?

Indoor Games for Kids

With the terrific heat of the sun my kids are not allowed to go out. So they have to play indoor games for kids in the house. In a limited quarter, what game can be played? Here are some activities that our kids need not to go outside and play under the heat of the sun.

· Place a pail or a basket on the floor. From a limited distance, have the ball thrown into the pail or basket. For I have 3 kids in the house. The kid with most successful tries is declared the winner.

· Have any object in part of the room. The child, who finds it, may be given a price like cookies or a biscuit.

· Bouncing ball, counting each time, until it stops or roll away. The winner is the one who has successfully bounced the ball the most number of times.

· Roll Ball- Draw a circle on the floor. From a distance, roll the ball towards the circle. The ball maybe falls short of the circle or go beyond it. The one who rolls the ball such that it stops at the circle is the winner.

· Listen and name – Many articles are put together on a small t able. A child is blind folded. The mother taps the article and the kid names it. If he succeeds, he goes on naming until he fails. Then another kid takes his place. Keep the score. The winner is the one who has identified the most number of objects.

These are some of te indoor games that our kids will enjoy playing even they art only staying inside the house with indoor games for kids. And with this kid of indoor games for kids they can also relaxed their eyes from watching television and playing video games.
