Summer Time Fun with Direct TV

Summer time once again and my children are free from going to school everyday. They have enough time playing in the house and watching their favorite channels on Direct TV. Because during summer time Direct TV offers over more than 265 programming channels, and the good thing is they have an exclusive programming with NASCAR and we don’t have to connect to any cable company, for Direct TV is the number one satellite entertainment service provider and offers a 100% digital programming. All of the movie channels that we could possibly need are now in the Direct TV.

My children are very happy watching television for most of their time they can choose plenty of movie channels that they need to watch summer time fun with Direct TV really enjoy my kids and instead of playing outside the house they devote their time in watching television and I am happy that they are far from any road accident.

How to Improve our Kids Reading Skills

During these past few weeks I was invited by a friend to attend a Parents’ Seminar-Workshop on how to improve Children’s reading skills, is was a really a good seminar I’ve ever attended because in that way I can help my kids improved their reading skills.

We were 40 parents participated in the seminar. All the participants were aware of the importance of improving their children‘s reading skills since we believed that this is the primary avenue towards attaining further reading skills development. My presence of the seminar was a manifestation that I am very much concerned with my children welfare, putting aside the more important routine at home on a week end.

We have many guest speakers, one speaker talked about the “developing the study habits for children”. One very important feature is skills in improving academic performance level through following a daily time schedule for study both in school and at home. The speaker was very empathetic that we the parents should give attention to this so that our children can really develop the positive attitude towards good study habits.

Finally the speakers told us that if we will follow only these tips they suggested, the children in the fast learners groups become even better readers while the low performing groups’ children at least will attain a certain degree of improvement in the future.

Back to School Once Again

In my country Philippines, June is the time for opening of classes and as a parent of two kids I am quite busy fixing all the school requirements that the school given to me by the school in charge upon enrollment time.

Aside from the requirements given to me by the school I need also to buy new books for my children because they really need it also. As a parent with high expectations to my kids I am trying to find textbooks by subject as a reference here in the house aside from the books that are supplied from the school. To let them really enhance their knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that they can be use to mobilize themselves toward greater productivity in the near future.
I always do these routine every year to find textbooks by subject to let my children in the house make busy with their time, because if they have learning materials in the house they cannot divert their free time in playing non sense things.

Through learning in the house we can also help our kids uplift their knowledge and be the one of the outstanding students in their class.

Vacation is Gone

Our long vacation is gone,
For the month of June has come;
And the school days will also come;
A place of play and fantastic fun;

Friends will meet friends a new,
For school days will soon begin;
To learn Math, English and Filipino,
In teacher’s fold, motherly caring.

We also learn Science and Health
And HELE, HeKASi and Mape;
The teacher’s, again and again will say,
The learning is yours when you study.

When summer vacation is gone,
School bells will be ringing again;
To school, friends will go one by one,
For there, where friendship and fun begin

Being a mom is not an easy thing to do, but having two handsome and talented kids in the house is an enjoyable one. Yes having kids is a God gift given to us. That is why I really hands on my kids especially when it comes to their studies. Because it is the only way I can give to them until they become old.

In the house I teach my toddlers to speak our international language, in that way they will not be behind in school academic lessons, because here in my country we have our own language which is tagalong, and so many dialects that we commonly used. That is why I really oblique my kids to speak English to be more fluent and one of the outstanding pupil in their class.

I even bough Toddlers Language Videos for my kids, because it helps them a lot in understanding different languages. In their very young age they are already practicing and following different languages. While playing in their play room the Toddlers Language Videos is also playing on the television at the same time they are learning while playing. Recipe of Fried Rice for my Family

Fried Rice

fried rice

Ingredients:

6 cups cooked rice
½ cup red and green pepper chopped
4 tbsp. cooking oil
1 bunch spring onions, chopped
1 cup boiled chicken meat diced
1 cup cooked Chinese ham, diced
¼ kilo fresh pork, sliced
1 tbsp. soy sauce
2 pcs. Chinese sausage sliced
2 eggs scrambled and fried very crisp, cut into strips

Procedure:

Saute the spring onions in the cooking oil. Add the pork and saute it browning the silvers to extract their flavor. Season with soy sauce; add the Chinese sausages and red and green peppers. Cover and cook over moderate heat for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are almost done. Add 2 or 3 tablespoon of water if necessary. Add the cooked rice, chicken meat, Chinese ham and rice, mixing gently with a “folding in” motion. Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet and continue cooking, stirring the mixture from time to time to prevent scorching. The dish is done when the vegetables are cooked. Garnish with strips of scrambled eggs. Serve 8 – 10.

A Dream Vacation with my Husband

When summer is still in the air, there’s nothing like a sake-fueled day of ocean viewing to mark this very special occasion in our life with my very dear husband. Celebrating our wedding anniversary is a memorable one for we don’t celebrate yearly due to my partner’s chosen career, he is a seaman and always on board. That’s why when he is on vacation we grab an opportunity to celebrate together especially in celebrating our wedding anniversary.

Good that my husband is a seaman and he already traveled around the world, he heard about a beautiful place in Mexico that is a perfect place to go to celebrate with our loved ones. Having a short vacation in  is really a great one, but staying is this very nice place is a very lucky one. My husband and I enjoyed the amenities that they offered with a relaxing spa, a nice gym to make my body physically fit always even in my vacation time, having a dinner with my husband over looking the bay view and the most unforgettable is lying in my husbands arm while lying in the white sand beach.

The view of Estancia Vallarta across the bay at night sparkles like any other city. The only difference is it shines brighter than most places and well into the night, hoping to come back soon together with my kids. Estancia Vallarta is a perfect place to stay with the whole family.

Cancer; How to Control these Rapid Grow

Cancer is a disease that is characterized by abnormal growth and spread of cells, the growth itself which usually takes the form of tumor. Cancer is a very dreadful disease as second to heart disease as cause of death. Cancer in its early stages can be cured by removing the growth by surgery, by killing the cancerous cells.

A few days ago I did visited my aunt who is suffering this kind of disease, I pity her a lot for she was done by a therapy and she was not felling okay. My aunt before is an energetic woman and an active for her business in different areas in our place, but when she felt in her self that she has something felt in her life that is not good, She visit our family doctor for some consultation, but sad to our family doctor told her that she has something not good in her body and need to treated and it was a cancer for her breast.

It was an unexpected disease happen to my aunt but we have nothing to do but to be treated and have some process to be done. Here are some recommendations by our health experts to reduce cancer risks:

• Eat plenty of food that are rich in vitamins A and C like dark green and deep yellow vegetables, citrus fruits, and yellow orange fruits.
• Eat plenty of high fiber foods such as whole grains, beans, fruits and vegetables.
• Eat more cruciferous vegetables (mustard family) like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage and cauliflower.
• Maintain body proper weight.
• Reduce dietary fat intake to no more than 30% of total calories.
• Avoid salt-cured, smoked and nitrite-cured meats.
• Do not smoke.
• Alcohol is not recommended.
• Guard against overexposure to sunlight.

Cancer can strike at any age affecting children as well as adults. It is then necessary that proper hygiene and proper diet must always be observed to prevent the development of cancer cells in our bodies.
