Parents Role towards our Children’s Behavior

The most important role of parents as agents in stimulating independent moral judgment in growing up our children is through moral discussion or dialogues with the adolescents, not lectures. It can be held with pleasure at home and in school.

Our world as a parents and the child’s world used to be separated by some kind of wall where communications does not existent. Parental authority and unquestioned was always right. And with the authority there was a privilege to punish without having to explain anything at all. The adolescent was wrong for the simple reason that he was still young.

But this has changed now a days that parents and children live together more closely. Grown ups now no longer consider the small child as a sort of plaything unable to want to understand, but more as a person with whom some kind of relationship could be established and who could also be asked wit regards to some family affairs.
Communication plays an important role for a closer relationship, where it ventilates feelings and gives individuals a sense of being heard and understood.

We as the parents are called upon to make countless decisions everyday and a great deal has been written to guide them in making decisions, such advice to our children maybe helpful but we may miss the mark since the role of a parent involve more than a succession of separate acts. The parent’s qualities have an important bearing on what the child does. The attitude of personality of parents determines the manner in which we administer each phrase of child care. Whatever the personality of the parents might be, it is expressed or communicated through what the parent is and done
