Another thing to watch out for with peanuts are ones that are roasted in oil. The oil that is often used for peanuts is hydrogenated oil – the reason that they use this oil is that it doesn’t smell when it goes off. Not only is it dangerous because it doesn’t smell when it is rancid but also hydrogenated oil is a transfat.
