Talents Night Celebration of My Son

What an amazing talent my son has. Just last night we were celebrating the talents night of my son who is in Grade-3 as one of the finalist of their Foundation Day Celebration in their school, the San Roque Child Development School, a Montessori school here in Cordova, Cebu. Being a mom I am very proud of my son and the good performance he made on stage that makes the audience entertained and clap with their two hands with full of smile.

Before the competition start, I was in the back stage preparing for his attire, putting a little make-up in his face and giving my son a support in order not to be ashamed in front of the crowd. At first he is quite lonely and he doesn’t talk at all, I ask my son why? And what is happening to him because the competition will now starts please my son do not be ashamed. But still he keeps on silence and I understand him for his talent is not an easy thing to do by a normal boy. He wore Miss Saigon attire and wearing clogs, with earrings, and having a long wig hair. That’s why he is ashamed to face their classmates and friends who are watching him.

When it is already his time to perform, he stand in his chair and go directly to the stage with poise, Ohsss, yes with poise for he is the Miss Saigon for that night. His talent is not only pure Miss Saigon he will interpret the music with action and after that he remove his attire being a girl and inside he is a hunk with a music ”totoy bibo” music that makes the audience clap their hands on the air. But his talent did end in that portion we cut the music and enter the baby laugh and my son has a perfect action to pinpoint the audience with a laugh and that’s the end of his talent with the smile and a big clap from the crowd.

I did not expect my son performance that he will do his best because as what I have said that he is ashamed with his attire, but the attire is not a hindrance I know my son he will do his best just to win the competition. This coming Sunday Feb. 28 is their pageants night and expecting everybody will do their best that they can. Let us watch and see who will win the game.

Marital Relationship

In our world today, staying married “till death do us part” is already difficult for couples living together. It becomes more difficult then for couple living apart. Indeed, Together in poorer and in wealth you will be together. And that is being put to the test by migration.

Marital relationship is especially tested because of the presence of other family members in the couple’s abode. Some relatives especially siblings and parents of the migrant worker, expect that their needs be also met by this migrant worker. Aside from supporting their spouse ands children the migrant worker still has to continue sending a brother or sister to school and giving financial support to their parents. Often, this situation causes tension and sometimes leads to misunderstanding between the couple.

Duties of Parents towards their Children

Each and every one of us as a parents have our own duties and responsibilities towards our children, in order to guide them to the way of righteousness. I have here some general duties that we parents must do to our children.

• To give them affection, companionship and understanding.
• To extend to them the benefits of moral guidance self-discipline and religious institutions.
• To stimulate their interest in civic affairs, teach them the duties of citizenship and develop his commitment to their countries.
• To supervise their activities including their recreations.
• To advice them properly on any matter affecting their development and well being.
• To always set a good example.
• To provide them with adequate support.

These are only simple tips for our duties towards our children. Parents also knows better what are their duties responsibilities to their children and we must not ignore this kind of everyday jobs in order that you have a good relation between your children and guide them always in everything they do.

Parents Must Associate with Children

We as parents of our children, we shall encourage our child to associates with other children of his own age with whom they can develop common interests of useful and solitary nature. It is our duty as parents to know our child’s friends and their activities in order to prevent them from falling into bad company.

The child should not be allowed to stay late at night to the harm of their heath, studies and morals. If we will allow them to stay and go home late at night there is also tendency of child is involve in drugs and other unnecessary moves that teen age are doing. We must protect them in everything they do in order to have a better future onwards. Associating with other children is a good way of enhancing their good relationship as long as they are doing the right things that can help them enjoy their being young.

The Importance of a Father’s Role

Whether a father becomes successful or not, he is still a “great man” to his child and bigger and better than anyone else, for a child a father is a combination of hero, guide, mentor, protector, teacher and a friend. The father is someone who loves discipline, hands down material and moral legacies and shapes a child world view. Men play vital role in the family and encounter the challenges in parenting.

Everything we know shows that when men are involve with their children’s IQ increases when they are 6 or 7, the child is more likely to have a sense of humor, develop a sort of inner excitement, to believe in their selves and more motivated to learn.

In a different way, a father’s emotional distance can have a profound negative effect. Some experts says that the direct relationship between a father’s absence and higher rates of aggressive behavior in sons, sexually precautious behavior in daughters, and more rigid sex psychology in children of both sexes.

I remember my niece, they have all the wealth, they can but anything they want, the children are studying in a private school, they have a beautiful house, but it is quite lonely for their daddy is far away from them only the mother is supervising their children. Sometimes I can tell to my self that what is money if you are not happy, everything is useless if you are not in one family. We are in one family, but then the father is always away from us, but there are times that the children are looking and longing for the love of their father and mother has nothing to do except to let the children understand the situation and sometimes mother stay in one corner, crying for no one can help except to understand the situation. Father has big role in the family and hoping that all fathers will work near to their family but the situation sometimes don’t permit us, so let us face what is our will in life.

Being a Seaman’s Wife

Life without a husband in our side is not an easy thing to do; we need to be strong for our daily lives in order to coup up the needs of our children and to comfort them in the absence of our husband. Having a children of two both are studying is quite difficult to manage without a partner. But I need to be strong and if possible I don’t want to be sick with God’s well.

I need to wake up early morning just to prepare for the food for our breakfast, prepare the uniforms and everything needed for my son’s going to school. Time to wake up the kids, and assist them in taking a bath, changing cloths, and to eat their breakfast in order not to be late in going to school, then I drive them in school for I did not hire for a school bus for them for I pity them to wake up early because school service pick up very early for there are still many students to be pick up. So, I prefer to hands on them in everything. When they are already in school I have also time for myself and time to clean and other daily chores to be done in the house. I did not hire for a nanny for I don’t know the person and you will be together I one roof. Better to have no nanny than to have a headache with them.

Seaman’s wife is not an easy task we need to be strong all the time just for our family. Most wife of a seaman has an easy life waiting for the allotments to come every month, go on shopping, casino and everything and sometimes there are third party involve which is common to every husband and wife that are always away from each other. And it is always one thing that I don’t want to happen in my marriage, it is important that each of the husband and wife must take care of their relationship in order to have a better future together with our children. Let the love, trust, understanding and fear in God be always in every household in order to save the marriage and live life in a harmonious way.

Most of the mothers that their husbands are working away from home, a mother become a father.
