What Mother Knows

As I look at my sons, I enumerate the lessons I’ve learned, especially from the recent events in my life.

First, we are responsible for our children and their welfare. This includes insuring a healthy and nurturing atmosphere. That is something that we all should work on.

Second, respect is significant in all relationships. Our children must always respect their parents. As parents, we must also earn their respect. We may or may not always agree wit each other, but we must keep in mind that what all parents want is what’s best for their kids. We must put in our minds that self respect is also important.

Third, is as much as we want good things to last forever, sometimes it just doesn’t. Anything happens, which ever direction we take we must put God as center in our life.

One thing I can share is, my two boys are flourishing under my affectionate, considerate and perspective care, enveloped and protective of my warm mother’s love.

Kids Backpacks for our School Children

Back to school once again and we need new kids backpacks for our children. It is very important that they have a backpack to be use in school in order to put their things properly and arrange. When I bought a new kids backpack for my kids they are very happy sharing to their friends that they have a new backpack bought to them by their mom. And being a mom is also proud to them that I choose a very nice backpack for them, and it is also our great pleasure us a mom to see our kids happy.

For those who have a toddler, toddler backpacks are very recommended to them because it is spacious and many things to put, as what my friend told me that his son was murmuring because the bag that her mother bought to him is very small and his things are not enough and when they put books inside it, the bag was wrecked and his son was crying for he don’t have a bag anymore. So, I did suggest my friend to buy toddler backpacks that has a good quality and durable.

Not all the time our children are always in school they need to relaxed there selves during weekends, and we often go to a park to have some picnics, they really enjoyed playing with a lot of new friends they meet, but there are times that they need to relaxed and sometimes they take a nap, good thing is that we always bring a nap mat for them and they can lay down anytime in the grass with a very nice nap mat.

Enroll our kids in Social Activities outside School

Our children need social activities outside school and I recommend to all moms to enroll our kids in a self-defense activity like junior karate, aikido, judo, etc. during weekends or after school. In that way they can have fun and be in good shape to physically ward off bullies.

I know someone who says always bullied because of his weight. So I recommend a weekend activity of junior judo classes. They can shed off those pounds while having fun learning a new skill. Acquiring a new physique and skills boosted their self-esteem and confidence.

Often times our child wouldn’t even have to actually use his karate or judo skills to scare away the bully, our child’s new found confidence will usually be enough to prevent any bully’s attempt to frighten him.

Cheese Cake Recipe

Cheese Cake is one of the favorite cakes of my son and he often asks me to make a cake for him. So I ask from a friend about the best cake I ever taste.

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
3 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup sugar
1 cup oil
1 can condense milk (cold)
9 egg yolks

Separately:
Egg whites
2 tsp. cream of tartar
½ cup sugar

Topping:
1 nestle cream
Milk powder
Small sugar
Grated chess
1 can condense milk
1 soften butter

Procedure:
Mix all the dry ingredients then add the mixture of whites. Mix very well in cut and fold procedure. Bake for 1 hour or 45 minutes only.

Cash in Trash

One early morning when I wake up I opened the door and see the morning beauty of the world. But looking at my gate I found something that is not good to see. It’s a trash in front of my gate. So I get some plastic and put it together.

What would you feel if pounds of garbage would be dumped at your doorstep? I consider trash a useless thing and I do not take another glance after throwing it away. Trash is unwanted but there is a hidden treasure in it.

Trash can be used again through recycling. All we have to do is make bags and boxes in our house as deposit containers for bio-gradable and non bio-gradable materials. Then ask permission from our neighbors to place their unwanted in trash in the containers at their backdoor or backyards.

After we have collected the containers from our neighbors and friends, the all magazines and newspapers in bundles. Flatten the aluminum cans and foil. Disassemble the empty boxes on junk foods. Clean the pie plates and plastic bags Sort the empty bottles according to size and color, then sell them all to the nearest recycling center. Aside from getting the profits from the garbage, you are also helping our community to minimize pollution, making our environment clean and green.

Let us encourage all of us to do this recycling in our community so that we could start turning our trash into cash.

Recipe of Fried Rice for my Family

Ingredients:

6 cups cooked rice
½ cup red and green pepper chopped
4 tbsp. cooking oil
1 bunch spring onions, chopped
1 cup boiled chicken meat diced
1 cup cooked Chinese ham, diced
¼ kilo fresh pork, sliced
1 tbsp. soy sauce
2 pcs. Chinese sausage sliced
2 eggs scrambled and fried very crisp, cut into strips

Procedure:

Saute the spring onions in the cooking oil. Add the pork and saute it browning the silvers to extract their flavor. Season with soy sauce; add the Chinese sausages and red and green peppers. Cover and cook over moderate heat for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are almost done. Add 2 or 3 tablespoon of water if necessary. Add the cooked rice, chicken meat, Chinese ham and rice, mixing gently with a “folding in” motion. Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet and continue cooking, stirring the mixture from time to time to prevent scorching. The dish is done when the vegetables are cooked. Garnish with strips of scrambled eggs. Serve 8 – 10.

Cancer; How to Control these Rapid Grow

Cancer is a disease that is characterized by abnormal growth and spread of cells, the growth itself which usually takes the form of tumor. Cancer is a very dreadful disease as second to heart disease as cause of death. Cancer in its early stages can be cured by removing the growth by surgery, by killing the cancerous cells.

A few days ago I did visited my aunt who is suffering this kind of disease, I pity her a lot for she was done by a therapy and she was not felling okay. My aunt before is an energetic woman and an active for her business in different areas in our place, but when she felt in her self that she has something felt in her life that is not good, She visit our family doctor for some consultation, but sad to our family doctor told her that she has something not good in her body and need to treated and it was a cancer for her breast.

It was an unexpected disease happen to my aunt but we have nothing to do but to be treated and have some process to be done. Here are some recommendations by our health experts to reduce cancer risks:

  • Eat plenty of food that are rich in vitamins A and C like dark green and deep yellow vegetables, citrus fruits, and yellow orange fruits.
  • Eat plenty of high fiber foods such as whole grains, beans, fruits and vegetables.
  • Eat more cruciferous vegetables (mustard family) like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage and cauliflower.
  • Maintain body proper weight.
  • Reduce dietary fat intake to no more than 30% of total calories.
  • Avoid salt-cured, smoked and nitrite-cured meats.
  • Do not smoke.
  • Alcohol is not recommended.
  • Guard against overexposure to sunlight.

Cancer can strike at any age affecting children as well as adults. It is then necessary that proper hygiene and proper diet must always be observed to prevent the development of cancer cells in our bodies.

The Importance of Water in our Life

Water is all we need; water is everyone’s life, without water we cannot live longer. When we are thirsty water is all we are looking for we cannot move anything without water. Like cooking our food, taking a bath, washing our cloths, watering the plants and many more, these are the importance of water in our life.

It comes to my mind how important is water in our life, because just this day we suffer a water interruption in our subdivision and I don’t really know that there is a scheduled water interruption this day so we did not put an extra water in our tub, it so happen that I take a bath in the bath room and my body was covered with soap, with a little water in a tub it was all ok for the shower has no more water already. Water is really important for us to refresh our body. Other thing is we are going to cook our food for our meals and no water, so what did we do is I get a one bottle of mineral water and used for the cooking of food and washing also our dishes. Sometimes we are only wasting water we don’t mind if the water is flowing in the faucet without somebody use it, but in times like no water at all there we can realized that water is really important to us all.

Drinking water must be clean and safe, and everyone knows about this because if the water we intake in our body is dirty something happen to us that is not good to our health, even when we brush our teeth and we are using the water in the faucet we cannot tell that water from the faucet is clean that is why I don’t really recommend water in the faucet to use when brushing our teeth because sometimes the water that we gargle is the water we also intake and we can’t avoid it. And these happen already to my son that was admitted before in the hospital due to the water that he use in the faucet for brushing his teeth, so, I am now very careful in everything we intake to our tummy for health is wealth.

A Healthy Person

I am a healthy person for I am always clean. I wash my hands before and after I eat. I take a bath daily and cut my finger nails weekly. I comb my hair and brush my teeth; I don’t have dandruff nor tooth decay.

I am a healthy person for I eat good food, food which gives me the right amount of nutrients I need everyday. I shy away from junk food, candies I eat with moderation. I love fruits and vegetables, for they make my body strong and wonderful. Not a single meal breakfast, lunch or dinner, do I miss? For each meal gives strength and energy all day long.

I am a healthy person for I live a cheerful and happy life. I wake up with a smile in my lips and a prayer in my heart, that every person I meet each day, happiness and joy I bring.

I am a healthy person for I treat my friends and relatives well. And when I have an enemy or somebody I don’t go along well, I talk with him and tell him how I feel. I don’t go for first fights, nor do I put one over another. In my mind, I always think of good things for friends and enemy alike.

I am a healthy person for I appreciate everything around me. Plants and birds I love, as well as stones and leaves on my path. For this, I always make sure that everything in my surrounding is clean and green.

I am a healthy person for I show respect to my parents, friends and even younger siblings. For me they are God’s gift to make my life complete.

I am a healthy person, and for this, I thank God above all. And at the end of each day, I also pray for me and you, that each one of us will always be strong and healthy all year long.

How to Quit Smoking

How to quit smoking? If you smoke, and wish you didn’t, a wonderful experience lies ahead of you, the experience of freeing yourself from burden – of rediscovering that you are your own boss. It won’t come without effort. But if you make the effort you will win.

Why do people smoke? As medical experts says that tobacco is not a habit forming; it does not worm its way into your physique and  psyche, as opium or cocaine does. But it is a habit of forming in the same way that three meals a day, eight hours of sleep or wearing cloths are habit forming. If we go without any of them for a while we become uncomfortable.

But how comfortable are we with tobacco? Do smoking really satisfies us? In a way that a big meal likes if we are hungry? Or a cold water if we are thirsty? We should know about these better.

When we smoke, nicotine, carbon monoxide and others various phenols are absorbed into our lungs and mouth and then many things begin to happen.  Your nervous system is momentarily stimulated. You start to salivate. Your blood pressure goes up , your pulse rate increase. We are artificially slowing down our body’s normal activities.

There is a little pleasure in smoking, until we come into effect that our body puts up with the harsh taste or the hot dryness for the sake of tobacco’s mild narcotic effect. If it is possible for us to go without cigarettes for the next 24 hours, we would find out distasteful and harmful to life tobacco smoke really is. We might even fell weak and need to sit down for a few minutes. Try it, so that you can prove it.

Try to think back also of the time many years ago when we smoke our first cigarette. Separate from all the glamor and excitement of our first smoke, how did it taste? Strong, wasn’t it? I spit and tasteless is what I felt.

Everyone knows that cigarette smoking is dangerous to our health, so what do we do about this? For a long thinking if we want to smoke we will think also how to give it up. If we really want how to quit smoking think about giving it up.

Think of calmly and coolly without fear or hesitations. Many others have done it. We can too. Try it as early as we can to save our lives.
