Antioxidant Vitamins

There are 13 known vitamins wit specific functions. Vitamins can be grouped into two; we have the fat-soluble vitamins and the water soluble vitamins. The fat soluble vitamins can be stored in our body for a considerable length of time whereas the water soluble ones it is dissolved and flushed out in our body in the urine. These two vitamins are what we called antioxidants.

These antioxidants are very important in our body’s cell protection system because they have the ability to neutralize the free radicals and the high reactive and unusable molecules that can cause damage in our cells. Our body is exposed in billions of free radicals which are produced through our normal body process and which are motivated by our external source such as air pollution and tobacco smoke. Better for these days that there are already electronic cigarettes than has no smoke comes out or what we called smoke free cigarette and it is good for the one who can inhale the smoke with the ordinary or the usual cigarette.

Continuous cellular damage done by free radicals may lead to a number of chronic diseases including cancer, cataract and the most common disease which is the heart diseases.

Due to increasing death in our community from these kinds of diseases, some of our health authorities recommended eating a diet containing plenty of fruits and vegetables rich with antioxidant vitamins.

If you have no idea or want know about antioxidants vitamins, these are vitamin C that is found in grapes, oranges, strawberries, broccoli and potatoes. For vitamin E there is nuts and green leafy veggies as well as in yellow-orange fruits like melon, peaches, carrots and sweet potatoes. These antioxidants vitamins or diet foods should be accompanied by other self protective health measures like regular exercise and medical check-ups.

Antioxidant vitamins are very safe for out body to take even at high levels. But it is always proper to play safe by following the recommended directions or prescriptions by our health experts.
