We have probably realized by now that what we put into our body has a definite effect on our well-being and the efficiency with which our body operates. We need not to worry about gaining weight when we stop smoking if we will recognize some of the basic principles. Do you know what these principles are? Well…
First of all, when we stop smoking two things begin to happen immediately. On one hand our body metabolism begins to work efficiently. This means that our body will be utilizing our food more efficiently. On the other hand we will find that our food tastes better. Our taste receptors drugged by years of constant exposure to nicotine, will once again begin to function as they should. So, because we fell recovered and because our food tastes better we will be tempted t eat more than we have been doing. In addition for how many years we have been used to having something in our mouth. This makes it all the more tempting to indulge in-between meal snacks and this is what a good practice that a good friend of mine is practicing. Before he often snacks a stick of cigarette but now a pack of biscuit with a candy afterwards.
Understanding these facts, we can choose to establish new patters which will bring us greater health and a longer life. I have here a list of healthier tips which will help our friends’ successful ex-smokers but not gain weight:
1. Eat a good breakfast.
2. Eliminate between-meal snacks.
3. Remove empty and refined calories from the diet as much as possible.
- Cut down drastically on all visible fats.
- Reduce use of free sugar.
- Use unrefined cereals. If you can eat brown rice much better.
- Do not use any alcoholic beverages
4. Reduce drastically the intake of animal fats.
5. Eat a light fruit supper or none at all.
6. Get regular and moderate exercise.
7. Get adequate rest, fresh air, sunshine, pure water.
8. Have regular medical check-ups.
9. Let God do your worrying.

And so, because we feel better and the food we intake taste better we will be tempted to eat more than we have been doing. For many years that we have been used that we have cigarette in our mouth. This makes it all the more tempting to indulge in-between meal snacks.
We can choose to establish new patterns which will bring us to a good health and a longer life. I have here some tips to ex-smokers and don’t want to gain weight: First we need to eat good breakfast, If possible eliminate between meal snacks, remove empty and refined calories from the diet as much as possible, cut down severely on all visible fats like oil, margarine, salad dressing, reduce intake of animal fats, get regular and moderate exercise, have an adequate rest and have a regular medical check up so that you can monitor your health all the time. Always remember that self control is the best way to have a good health.
