Setting Goals for Ourselves

In our everyday life most of us are always busy and some are not. But it is important that we must set a goal for ourselves, we may not reach it, but we will go a lot further in life than if we don’t know what we want to achieve. The theory of goal setting is very important with the effect of goals and target on our individual performance. Setting a goal is an approach to motivation that focuses on our intended outcomes in life rather than on our internal needs or motivational processes.

In my own observations that those who set goals for their selves achieved higher levels of output when we did than those who never tried to set goals. Generally speaking the more difficult a goal is, the higher the level of performance than can be expected. However, evidence suggests that this relationship does not hold true in all situations and it depends upon. Goals have been set at relatively high levels may fail to gain the acceptance or commitment necessary to bring about high levels of performance. In the level of performance also, I can say that levels of achievements motivate confidence, and self assurance have also been found to influence relationship between goal difficulty and performance.
